Single Review: Deportivo – ‘Girl Next Door’, 2010

London based group Deportivo have got a treat in store for those who are willing to search out their new single ‘Girl Next Door’ released 12th July, 2010. Calling him the male version of Kate Nash may piss people off, but the parallels are uncanny, the accent, the catchiness and subject content are just fantastic.

Don’t be fooled, Deportivo are a band worth checking out, and after a few plays ‘Girl Next Door’ will be cemented firmly in any respectable playlist for this summer. Engaging and relevant lyrics are combined with simple keyboard chords, crunchy guitar and rhythmic drum pattern, that will have you tapping a foot or bobbing a head along with it.

Overall, a great single from the London boys, bringing something fresh to an occasionally bland London music scene. ‘Girl Next Door’ is a track that deserves a listen and is well worth downloading.
