Food for Thought: When you are cramming for finals, it can be tempting to rely on time-saving takeaways—but that could be counterproductive. So what is the ideal exam diet, asks Huma Qureshi.

The North East welcomes Ray LaMontagne this coming Friday at The Sage Gateshead. This is hte first visit to the region by one of the ‘founders’ of pop-alt folk music. His music has featured in many television shows and movies and his three albums – Trouble, Till the Sun Turns Black & Gossip in the Grain.

One time drummer in Ladyfuzz, Ben Esser has spead his wings and embraced electropop as a frontman. Following on from the single Headlock comes Work It Out – which is available on his myspace page now and is released on the 23rd Febuary 2009. Esser is going to be in Brighton on Monday 9th Feb and Sheffield on the 19th Feb.

There are few events this year that we have been looking forward to more than the 2009 Sage Gateshead Grace Jones Show. We have ofcourse seen many a legend come and grace this incredible music stage but few will match the class and status as Ms Grace Jones.
