Paris Fashion Week: The John Galliano Saga…Too Much!

As am sure people are all too aware of what has gone on with John Galliono and his recent firing form the House of dior over comments he is alleged to have made during a recent visit to a Parisian Cafe. What has to be made clear here are two things the first is that the French Police have stated that there is no 3rd party witnesses so the case is a ‘he said they said’. And second the video that has emerged seems a little off as to why people would be sat with someone saying the things that he says.

It is an interesting that the social and personal breakdown that the high and mighty in the creative world face very publicly only really hits a nerve when they use the J-word. Unlike other racial insults or abuses anything anti-Semitic seems to draw universal condemnation and it would appear from the start of this whole saga people where willing to accept that Galliano was guilty.

The Video – Fact or Fake?

But with very little evidence of the initial complaint and with the police almost making it clear that they themselves are faced with a difficult case of ‘he said, they said’ someone seemed to have leaked the initial arrest to the police. The video that has emerged on Youtube and is making the rounds of all the blogs, when was the video made and why has it taken so long to come to light?

It seems that the House of Dior and others might have tried to distance themselves too soon from all this without waiting for the verdict and it also appears that someone only has to be accused of being anti-Semitic for them to be seen as guilty. Perhaps Dior and Oscar Winner Natalie Portman should wait for the police investigation to be over before making up their minds. But at least Galliano has some support:

“IN PRAISE OF JOHN GALLIANO
Beauty, intelligence and energy would describe John as I know him.
Where in this trilogy could one find hate?
I ask you!
My second question is…What exactly did he say?
And the third is…
What is really going on here??”

Starbuck Reveal New Logo – ‘We Sell More Than God-darn Coffe ya’ Know’.

News is rife with the news that Starbuck’s Coffee have revealed their new logo which seems to have lost the name and their golden goose ‘coffee’ from the logo. This comes on the heals of the doomed logo relaunch Gap made a few months ago which proved to be a huge marketing blunder and resulted in them cancelling plans for a global launch of of their new logo.

“I think it’s nuts,” said James Gregory, chief executive of brand consulting firm Core Brand told the BBC. ”What’s it going to be – the coffee formerly known as Starbucks?”

Revamping your image is one thing but Starbuck seem to want to distance themselves from ‘coffee’ and branch out into other services and products that they can offer their customers. Already set up a record label which famously distributed Paul McCartney’s first album after leaving beleaguered EMI the chain now boast their own Ice Cream range and have plans to sell beer and wine in some of its US shops.

BBC Man Regrets Losing It Over War Protest Sign

The great and good do sometimes fall pretty hard and Nick Robinson, the BBC Political editor is no exception. We, being press just like Nick, understand the frustration he must have felt when those lilly-livered leftist commie protesters hijacking his moment.

That said, the video is pretty funny and when they produce another sign it is hard not to laugh, however we ave been told by our editor that TNC does not condone this type of lazy opportunistic protest.

The Salient: Truth & Fair News: Justin Bieber NOT Gay?

Justin Bieber is denying all those gay rumours and to set the record straight he is launching his range of nail polish.

According to UsWeekly the Canadian annoyance will launch 14 different colours for his female/comfortable-with-their-sexuality-male fans to wear. The range will be available at Wal-Mart stores and their names are derived from his hits, which is odd as he’s only had a hand full (excuse the pun) yet has 14 colours?

Recently Beilber has been in the news for prancing round with that Queen of all Skanks Kim Kardashian, for those of you who saw those images disturbing is not a word I would use, lock the freak up comes to mind!

Some of the comments on US Magazine’s website have been pretty vocal with Michael Brollin saying:

Wow people way to be a jerk!! You know it not ANYONES place to call him gay or bash him!! Ya’ll DON’T know him as a person and ya’ll may not like his music but that does NOT give you a reason to Hate someone. I mean really grow the heck up and stop being so freaking judgmental. You have NO right to sit there and bash him!! Oh and btw whoever thinks its okay to call people gay you really need to grow the heck up cause guess what you have to freakin deal with the rest of the world and yes there are gay people out there so get over yourself you DON’T know that he is gay and only say that cause he is coming out with nail polish.
