Totally Tom (Tom Palmer & Tom Stourton) have been making waves since 2010 which also saw them get signed by an agent and which has led to a pilot deal with Channel Four. What makes them work so well is the combination of their writing, sketches length, and most importantly their finish.

When you appreciate a piece of theatre as much as I did this, no other introduction seems appropriate. With the end of the Fringe imminent, I was lamenting the lack of performances that had truly put a stranglehold upon my imagination: The Carroll Myth changed all that.

Collegiate a cappella group All the King’s Men have garnered rapid success since their establishment just two years ago. Following their sell-out run at the Fringe in 2010 and tour of the American East Coast earlier this year – of which a feature-length documentary has been produced – they have cultivated some degree of celebrity.

A beautiful mesh of diverse styles, Yellow Moon was one of the most impressive pieces of theatre I have seen at the Fringe. As evocative live music seeped from guitar and violin, we witnessed a tragic love story whose solemnity – at least at the beginning – was continually grounded by humour, as the play remained affecting without venturing into the pretentious.
