Winner of BEST DRAMA was Sing J Lee’s film “Flux“.

FLUX – A SHORT FILM from Sing J. Lee on Vimeo.

Review:

Flux is quite simply on of the most original and beautifully made short films you are every going to see. Sing J Lee (Director) creates an emotional connection between his audience and his film bringing the audience instantly into the relationship and involving us in every movement, sound and memory. There is a genuine subtle feel to the film that shows a clarity in Sing’s directional style, this maturity can not be understate and is a skill that seems to come naturally to Sing. Few first time filmmakers would be able to achieve the level, or standard, of what Sing has been able to do and a we have a small glimpse into what the future holds for other productions.

Director Sing J. Lee is currently in his second year at Manchester Met University studying Illustration with Animation and his University couldn’t be prouder of their students award success. Read the article here.

Winner of Best Experimental Max Kimbler’s film “Cusp

Review:

Without question what Max created here was a breathtaking example of simplicity and beauty that ALL future filmmakers should take note of. The film is one you watch a few times even though you well away you haven’t missed anything but you want to see it again. Max creates a life, story, event even, through “Cusp” that makes it scream out from all the other films, but this doesn’t detract away from the skill of the other filmmakers in this category. The director uses he own breath in the film to great affect and the glazed life filled eyes of the bird jump out at you. “Cusp” is originality at its best, unquestionably stunning.
