We love Betty White here at The New Current. Not only has she been a staple of American television for the past 40 years she has, more recently, proved to be one of the best and finest of comedians still making the rounds today. And at 88 there seems to be no stopping White.
White gained great success staring in the 1990s classic Golden Girls, as Rose, (sadly Bea Arthur died last year after a long battle with cancer) and once again played a character that the audiences fell in love with. More recently she has starred in feature film ‘The Proposal’ and on Craig Ferguson’s late night talk show in a variety of sketches that are simply beautiful to watch.
But this is why America Loves Betty White:
She is is the news yet again because of her commercial for Snickers which aired during last Sunday Nights Superbowl, the lines:
“Mike what’s going on, your playing like Betty White out there?” to which White reply’s “That’s not what your girlfriend says” is just pure Betty White.
