Sketch shows are all over the place at the Fringe 2009, and there are some OK ones and there are some really bad ones (no names) but there is one that stands out from all the rest and that’s Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting presnets Misery Eats Company. Coming from America this show isn’t shouldn’t be at the Free Fringe you should have to pay to see this Katie and Leah work so well together on stage it hurts and their creativeness, though American, plays effortlessly to a sell-out crowd.
Watching the two of them on stage is like watching early French & Saunders they have spent time creating the characters and working hard on a script that works. One of the issues that the sketch show format has is the ending. Many of them, even the much hailed Lady Garden, have issues with ending a scene and moving onto the next sketch and it took Lady Garden a few sketches to get it right. But Leah and Katie are able to work so well at the finish of the scene that it doesn’t feel staged, as each of the sketches come to a close some upbeat music is played and they get ready for the next scene.
Though I do hate to do it there two bits in the show that will leave you wet with laughter…the condom sketch and the final Oatmeal sketch. These two bits illustrate how creatively brilliant these two American Darlings are and the audience was loving every minute of it.
As with most shows that have this level of talent it’s hard to pick on one part of the show that is the strongest. They work on duel scenes perfectly as well as some solo scenes and to be able to hold the audience’s attention the way they do is commendable. Now all you need is for some music and you have a real sketch show – the girls from New York didn’t let us down. This is the first world show that I have seen and the standard couldn’t be higher and in no way shape or form should this show be FREE.
Misery Eats Company is my number one show of Fringe 2009. I have seen some memorable shows and I have laughed and been taken in by people who are here on their own back doing what they love and this show is so close to perfect it will make your head spin.
‘See this show, see it, see it, see it…without question the best show at the Fringe 2009′ *****FIVE STARS

I’m lucky enough to live in the same town with them and have seen them perform many times. They are fantastic. Some of the best sketch I’ve ever seen. And as psychotic as they seem in character, they really couldn’t be nicer ladies. Kudos!
A world away, I have seen Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting perform in Austin, Texas, and I agree with everything this reviewer says. Fantastic!
