What’s all this about Megan Fox…

There have been some very nasty rumours going around that Megan Fox is a ‘bitch’ and she wants to ‘act’ so one has to ask why even think about doing a Michael Bay film moreover, should she really bite the hand that feeds her?

With that said the “Transformers” director Michael Bay is not pleased with Megan, and we thought we would try and get what was said into focus, she told Entertainment Weekly (EW):

 ”Unless you’re a seasoned veteran, working with Michael Bay is not about an acting experience.” She then added that the movie “did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don’t want to blow smoke … People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting.”

Now she does have a point, but I for one think that some of Bay’s films have had soem real acting chops in them, erm, Pearl harbour (I know this was hated by everyone but was a good film).  Either way I think she has really done herself no favours and I think the fact that she is only three films in, and her next one sees her play a High School Cheerleader who eats boys and drinks their blood means that Oscar nominations are not in the pipelines.

On action films, Sigourney Weaver was one of the most famous action stars, as well as playing one of cinemas greatest heros, and has made one hell of a career for herself, and one that I think Megan should look at and try to embrace.  Get known now for action and later on become and actress.

For Bay he responded on the Wall Street Journal (WSJ):

“Well, that’s Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, “OK Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it. But I 100% disagree with her. Nick Cage wasn’t a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in ‘Armageddon.’ Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a big movie star before he did ‘Transformers’ — and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence from ‘Bad Boys.’ Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in ‘Transformers.’ I like to think that I’ve had some luck in building actors’ careers with my films.”

 

Though I agree with Bay in principle the fact remains that all of the actors he had worked with where already on a very high road to being megastars. Smith had starred in a very popular TV show and was a recording star, Cage has a very famous Uncle, and Affleck had just won an Oscar.  But as for Bay, the box office doesn’t lie and the $750 million that the first Transformers film made should be keeping Megan pretty quiet, one thing Hollywood hate is an insider telling tales…few people ever forgave Julia Philips for her tell all book about Hollywood.

Though Bay’s films can lack the character delelopment that one would like in a Hollywood film – erm – he is an action directors and the movies are about action and that’s why we go to see them, so may be Megan should get off that high horse, or perhaps she is signed on for another Transformer film and she wants out, getting fired am sure would break her contract.
