Barcelona v Man United kicks off this evening at 19:45
In case you had your head under a rock for the past day or so, the reason everyone is talking about football is simple: Manchester United are playing Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Final 2009 this evening (kick off is 19:45pm).
Tickets for the match are apparently trading at over £1,400 on the black market, and even tickets to watch Champions League Final 2009 indoors, at the Manchester Comedy Store seem to have sold out.
That’s because these are two of the most widely supported clubs in the world, at the top of their game, battling it out to become Champions of Europe. This is one of the most eagerly European Cup finals I can remember.
Many Chelsea fans will lament their team’s exit at the hands of this Barcelona side – but few will argue that this Anglo-Spanish final will be anything short of riveting. Certainly, fans of Champions League betting will note the bookmakers position – they can’t split these teams by much, making Man Utd slight favourites at just under 2 to 1 compared to Barcelona’s just over 2 to 1 odds.
The word on the street is, if you can find somewhere you can see a big screen at around half seven this evening, then you should probably send your pals to the bar for you, or risk losing your place.
Which reminds me of a dreadful 90 minutes I spent behind a pillar during World Cup 2006…

That was an absolute rumble to the so called REDS
